Monday Openers: December 29, 2014

A quick good morning to all the animal loving, nature loving, scientists, poets, writers, painters and weirdos…..or those of you who are normalites (like me!). (yeah, right)

Let’s hope this week there are fewer coyotes killed, fewer beavers and bobcats trapped, more land for cougars to roam, and more kids that have a few hours to run wild and unfettered in the woods. If there are no woods to run through then find a park in the city and explore! Stomp in the mud; splash a puddle of water and get dirty.

Below is a picture of slow moving, low gradient creek that I did a riverine wetland assessment on last summer. Stay awesome, people, and work for for the planet and all of her inhabitants.

Let’s get this week started!
